“Southern Home Performance was one of three contractors that were hired to improve the comfort level and energy efficiency of our home. I was very impressed with the level of knowledge, expertise, and professionalism that Will displayed during the initial consultation. The results of their recommendations and subsequent efforts were astounding. Since completion of the project several months ago, we are realizing an average savings of 45% on our energy bills, and a much improved and comfortable climate in which to live. During the installation and upgrade process, Will and his crew did an exemplary job with great attention to detail to ensure my complete satisfaction. The follow-up and responsiveness of both Will and Bridget following job completion has also been superb.” - Troy McCrary
Southern Home Performance technicians complete FUJITSU F.A.S.T. (Fujitsu Authorized Service Training) Seminar where they learned detailed information about ductless mini-split systems, operating components and installation requirements, as well as troubleshooting and diagnostics procedures for Fujitsu mini-split air conditioners and heat pumps. A ductless mini-split system is a small central air unit with the flexibility of cooling or heating one room or more without having to change the temperature of an entire building.

Highlighting roles of Faith and African American communities...
Last week was Earth Week with many activities across the state organized and
attended by people who care about the earth and want humans to be more
sustainable.
The Georgia Chapter celebrated Earth Day with Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church
for their First Annual Earth Day Celebration and Creation Care Service. Pastor
Raphael Warnock delivered a service entitled "Proclamation of Creation" to
highlight the importance of the role that the Faith and African American
community play in the environmental movement.
Immediately following church service, several hundred members of Ebenezer
participated in the first ever Ebenezer Baptist Church "Green Fair". During the
fair Ebenezer members participated in a light bulb swap where they received
one compact fluorescent bulb in exchange for one incandescent bulb along
with an energy efficiency tip sheet.
Our chapter organizer Seandra Rawls, along with energy committee members
Marion Webb and Samantha Sayer did an awesome job of helping to raise
awareness in the church community about the importance of energy efficiency
and the work that we do at the Sierra Club.
We'd like to give a special thank you to Southern Home Performance who
helped sponsor the event and to our new Sierra Club volunteer Cynthia
Bohannon-Brown who did an awesome job at capturing the event in these
phenomenal photos.

Using compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) instead of comparable incandescent bulbs can save approximately 50% on your lighting costs, use only one-fourth the energy and last up to 10 times longer.

We are, unfortunately, in the habit of leaving the TV and computer on all day – even if we’re not paying attention to either of them. Both of these devices consume a large amount of electricity, contributing to our carbon footprints and energy bills.
